There’s no one-size-fits-all answer—it really depends on your goals (water acclimation vs. water safety), your family dynamics, and your mini’s needs. At TinySwell, we consider all of these factors to create the perfect plan for your child.
It’s never too early to start! Introducing your mini to the water brings so many benefits, from boosting movement and cognitive development to strengthening the bond between parent and child.
Our Mini + Me group course is ideal for minis as young as 3 months, focusing on water acclimatization and basic self-rescue skills. After completing this course, we recommend practicing with your mini until you notice their progress leveling off. That’s when it’s the perfect time to start private self-rescue lessons. Even though your mini can attend the Mini + Me course until the age of 2.5 years old, most successful journeys are seen with minis below 1.5 years old.
If you’re already confident with water and your mini’s comfort level, you can jump straight into our private self-rescue lessons (starting as early as 6 months). For the most natural learning curve, we suggest weekly lessons through a membership, allowing us to adapt to your mini’s development at every stage.
If your focus is water safety for the warmer months, booking a flexible self-rescue course closer to late winter and scheduling multiple lessons a week can help ensure your mini is water-safe by spring or summer.
And don’t worry if your mini is a toddler or preschooler—it’s never too late to start! We offer speed courses during school holidays and after-school lessons to quickly get your mini feeling confident, safe and happy in the water. Upon completion of the private self-rescue levels (TinyFloaters and TinySwimmers) your mini is welcome to join our Little Swimmers Group Lessons to learn swim strokes.
At TinySwell, we believe every child’s journey is unique—and we’re here to support your family every step of the way!
Absolutely! We totally understand how important it is to make sure TinySwell is the perfect fit for both you and your mini. We also love getting to know your little one before diving into a full membership/course. That’s why we offer 1 introductory private or group lessons per mini, where you and your mini can experience our unique approach to water safety firsthand for only 35 euros. It's a great chance to ask any questions, share concerns, and see if our program feels like the right match for your family—no pressure!
At TinySwell, we offer a holistic, personalized approach that goes beyond the typical one-size-fits-all programs. Our lessons are tailored to each child’s unique needs, focusing on both their physical and emotional well-being.
Our method is developed by a team of (para)medical and psychological experts, who have incorporated evidence-based principles into every aspect of the TinySwell method. This makes our program especially strong and well-rounded when it comes to supporting your child’s overall wellbeing.
Our approach is rooted in well-established practices that build trust and confidence before gently challenging your mini. We also provide a private, calm environment to ensure your child feels safe as they learn essential self-rescue skills at their own pace.
At TinySwell, we’re not just teaching water skills—we’re helping your child develop the confidence and emotional security to thrive in and around water!
At TinySwell, we welcome all minis aged 3 months and older! Using our TinySwell method, we first focus on self-rescue swimming through private lessons, where your child will learn the skills to progress through TinyFloaters and TinySwimmers. Once they’ve mastered this foundation, they’ll move on to Little Swimmers group lessons (max. 3 minis/group) to develop swim strokes.;
Older children often progress quickly due to their neuromotor development, though they may need extra time to adjust to swimming without floaties (breath control, horizontal swimming position,...). Our personalized approach helps build confidence and ensures a faster learning process, especially for those who may feel overwhelmed in larger public swim settings. If your mini is school-aged, and weekly lessons are unfeasible, check out our flexible self-rescue courses, including speed courses during holidays!
I'm sorry to hear that your mini is scared of water, but don’t worry, we can absolutely help!
Our (para)medical team specializes in guiding minis to feel safe and confident, even if they’re initially anxious. We take a personalized approach, moving at your child's pace to build trust and comfort step by step. Through our gentle self-rescue lessons, we create a positive, supportive environment where your mini can learn new skills while gradually overcoming their fear.
Many of our little swimmers start off unsure, but once they gain confidence, you’ll see them glow and grow from within. Help your mini turn fear into fun—book an introductory lesson to get to know us!
For a private self-rescue swimming introduction lesson, all your mini needs is a swim diaper and 1 or 2 towels. Parents usually don’t enter the pool, and a wetsuit for your mini is provided and included in the price.
If you’ve signed up for a Mini+Me group introduction lesson, both you and your mini will be in the water together. You’ll need swim gear for both of you, a swim diaper for your mini, and their wetsuit will also be provided as part of the lesson.
